MOTO4YOU will showcase next-generation
technologies and innovative products and solutions
MUMBAI, India – 21 March, 2006 - Motorola Inc. (NYSE:MOT) today launched its global
roadshow, MOTO4YOU, in India. MOTO4YOU will set the tone and tenor of the
future of telecommunications in India. The event will showcase next-generation
telecommunications technologies and the latest in Motorola’s portfolio of
products and solutions, highlighting its leadership as an end-to-end
communications solutions provider.
At the three-day MOTO4YOU event, Motorola will demonstrate new products,
solutions and services, all leading to the company’s vision of Seamless
Mobility. Seamless Mobility, the future of converged networks, will deliver
unique user experiences, connecting people to information, entertainment and
people via any device, whether they are at work, at home, or on the move.
MOTO4YOU will also enable participants to witness Motorola’s end-to-end
capabilities – covering telecommunications networks, end-user devices, home
connectivity, enterprise communications solutions, application voice solutions,
wireless and wireline broadband technologies.

MOTO4YOU India will showcase new and existing GSM and CDMA products and
services. The Motorola CDMA 1xEV-DO Rev A and HSDPA solutions, which provide a
new capability for operators to offer enhanced services such as simultaneous
video, voice and data applications at high speed, will be demonstrated at the
event. Also showcased will be Motorola’s wireless broadband solutions, MOTOwi4
Canopy® and MOTOMESH, as part of its MOTOwi4 family of wireless
broadband solutions. With implementations in more than 100 countries around the
world, Canopy solutions provide the ideal wireless technology for building,
enhancing or extending advanced broadband networks.
MOTOMESH is one of the first multi-radio mobile broadband solutions to combine
the unlicensed Wi-Fi band (2.4GHz) and the licensed public safety band (4.9
GHz) on a single access point; giving simultaneous secure wireless access to
diverse communities such as the public works and public Wi-Fi users without
compromising the broadband connections amongst public safety users.
Motorola’s latest mobile devices portfolio spanning CDMA, GSM and 3G
technologies and products such as the award winning RAZR and SLVR, 3G and
Bluetooth devices will also be showcased. Targeted for emerging markets,
Motorola will be featuring its ultra-affordable phones, which aim to expand the
customer base potential for operators in India. Participants will also get to
experience the Motorola's cordless phone home communication system as well as
advanced IP Video entertainment solutions for the connected home.
Motorola has been very active in India over its 15 years in the country. In
July 2005, Motorola opened an R&D centre in Bangalore, which focuses on new
telecom switching technologies and products across CDMA and GSM/UMTS networks,
as well as develop products for a new class of computer – the communications
server.
Motorola has also deployed major cellular and mission-critical networks and is
delivering ultra-affordable handsets and deploying wireless broadband solutions
to address the social development needs of rural India.
In February 2006, Motorola announced that the Indian state of Rajasthan had
begun taking delivery of its MOTOwi4 Canopy wireless broadband equipment for
construction of a statewide wireless network. The Motorola network project
represents the first statewide deployment of wireless broadband infrastructure
in India.
