With increasing demand for its voice and data services,
Chile’s largest cable operator establishes a reliable, scalable platform to
deliver new multimedia services and handle subscriber growth.
HORSHAM, Pa. and VANCOUVER, BC – 25 April 2006 – Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) and
VTR GlobalCom, Chile’s largest cable operator, have selected Incognito
Software’s IP address management and multimedia provisioning products to
support VTR’s large-scale deployments of VoIP and Internet services.
Incognito's device provisioning software, Broadband Command Centre, dynamically
configures equipment in the customer’s home for subscriber-selected multimedia
services, and integrates with Address Commander software to provide centralized
IP management and utilization reporting.
In November, VTR announced that it intends to leverage the Motorola digital
video platform as the foundation for a nation-wide launch of advanced video
services Motorola is delivering a complete end-to-end solution, including video
headend equipment for the back office and interactive digital set-tops for
subscriber living rooms.
VTR’s rapid growth and escalating demand for its new digital offerings spurred
the need for software that could reliably handle a large volume of subscriber
requests for Voice-over-IP (VoIP) and Internet services. The resulting system
would need to support large-scale service deployments and create a seamless customer
service experience, and so other major considerations were fast software
installation, integrated DNS, PacketCable™ and SIP support, and easy
integration with VTR’s in-house Operations Support System (OSS) and billing
system.
“By integrating this end-to-end system including the Incognito solution,
Motorola enables VTR to streamline the ordering and provisioning process – so
customers can more readily order and begin enjoying digital video, voice and
data services,” said G. Bickley Remmey, Motorola corporate vice president and
general manager, Latin America. “With the proven Motorola video foundation in
place, VTR can now offer its subscribers new interactive and digital services.
We are proud to extend our relationship with VTR, and to work with an
organization like Incognito to continue the Latin American digital revolution.”
Patricia Steadman, CEO of Incognito Software, added, “We are pleased that this
project has contributed towards VTR’s goal of expanding multimedia services. An
essential part of deploying VoIP and minimizing customer churn is back-office
software that provides 5-nines reliability and carrier-grade performance. Our
software delivers on all those requirements.”
