Motorola and Yahoo! Expand Global Alliance

Companies Sign New Multi-Year Agreement to Pre-Load Yahoo! Go for Mobile on Millions of Motorola Mobile Devices

LIBERTYVILLE, IL and SUNNYVALE, CA – 20 July 2006 – Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT), and Yahoo! Inc. (Nasdaq: YHOO) today announced a new multi-year agreement to distribute Yahoo! Go for Mobile on tens of millions of new Motorola mobile devices. Yahoo! Go for Mobile (http://go.yahoo.com/mobile) brings an integrated suite of Yahoo!’s leading services including Yahoo! Mail, Yahoo! Search, Yahoo! Address Book and Yahoo! Local into a single application that connects consumers to their personalized Internet experience through their mobile device.

As part of the agreement, Motorola will pre-load and prominently feature Yahoo! Go for Mobile on optimised handsets worldwide starting in the first half of 2007, giving consumers quick and easy access to their Internet content and services. The devices will be available to consumers in a number of markets across the Americas, Europe, and Asia.

Motorola’s Global Technology Development Group Appoints New Leaders for Research & Development at Motorola Penang’s Asia Design Centre

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia - July 20, 2006 - Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) today announced that Teo Pek Bing (PB Teo) and Dr. Hari Narayanan will spearhead the Research & Development (R&D) Operations for Motorola’s Global Technology Development Group in Motorola Penang with immediate effect.

Appointed as directors of Engineering, Teo and Dr. Hari Narayanan will each be responsible for the continuing development and growth of Motorola’s TETRA (TErrestrial Trunked RAdio), APCO P25 (Association of Public Safety Communications Officials Project 25) and Professional Commercial Radios (PCR) two-way radios for the public safety, government and enterprise customers worldwide.

PB Teo, who has been with Motorola’s R&D operations for 22 years, will drive the R&D operations for TETRA product development, Professional Commercial Radios as well as Software Operations development. Teo will also oversee the Advanced Technology & Strategy (ATS) team in Penang.

Dr Hari Narayanan will assume the R&D operations of APCO P25; Radio Accessories, Mechanical Engineering operations as well as Regulatory operations. He will continue to head the Product Test operations and oversee the development for iDEN (Integrated Digital Enhanced Network).

Mohd Asri Hassan Sabri, who recently took helm as the country president for Motorola Malaysia said: “Teo and Dr. Hari are both outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions to the design and product quality development of Motorola’s two-way radios. Motorola Expands etisalat’s EDGE Coverage in the United Arab Emirates (UAE)

New deployment expands network coverage in Northern Emirates

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates - July 17, 2006 – Motorola, Inc. (NYSE:MOT) today announced a network expansion and optimisation contract with Emirates Telecommunications Corporation, etisalat, to enhance the operator’s wireless network in the Northern Emirates.

The expansion is designed to increase etisalat’s subscriber capacity and enable the operator to offer new high-speed data and voice services to its subscribers in the Northern Emirates via EDGE (Enhanced Data for GSM Evolution) technology.

The growth of Mobile Data Traffic and the introduction of new data applications will drive the need for more capacity and higher speed in operators’ mobile data networks. EDGE (Enhanced Data for GSM Evolution) is a method for increasing the data capacity of GSM by using new modulation techniques on the air interface. Typically EDGE will move the end-user data speed into the 200 Kbit/s class, thereby enabling advanced applications. Movistar and Motorola launch M-channel; a new, more agile and direct, personalized information service

• This new service lets Movistar clients see the information that most interests them directly from their screens providing direct access to “emoción” to get more details. There is no need to click to access this service

• This service will be available to Movistar clients as from the 18th of July – initially on the new Motorola V3 and U6 models.

• m-Channel operates using Motorola SCREEN3 technology which provides more efficient data transmission.

• Telefónica Móviles will be the first European operator in launching this service with Motorola.

ESPAÑA-Madrid, 13 July 2006- Telefónica Móviles and Motorola have today announced the launching of m-Channel, a new and innovative information service which lets Movistar clients access news items, sports and entertainment directly from the start-up screen on their terminal. m-Channel is based on Motorola SCREEN3 technology and puts into play a transparent area at the bottom of the screen, where clients can subscribe to the information that most interests them and access this information directly. This application will be automatically available to the client, and is a non-intrusive means of receiving information and entertainment as well as special offers and promotions.

This new service will be available as from 18th July for all Movistar clients that buy a V3 or U6 Motorola terminal.

If a client activates this service -automatically available-, he/she will have a basic channel informing about Movistar novelties and promotions. Additionally, the client can subscribe to the Premium service and can choose from up to five other channels covering different subjects (information, sports, leisure, etc) . The cost of this subscription to the Premium service on the m-Channel will be 2 euros per month.

“M-Channel is a modern communication channel providing a new doorway into the world of “emoción”. We have considered a service offering more direct access, without it being necessary to use the menu, and which is personalized, as each client can select the information and contents he or she wants from the variety available. m-Channel is always there when you want to see it: it is a “newspaper” which is always open at the right page”, says Jose Luis Alonso Talamillo, m-Channel Product Manager.

When a client subscribes to any of the contents, a transparent “ticker” appears automatically at the bottom of the terminal screen indicating which ones they are. The client will see an icon and a brief description of the contents by headings. If information shown on the carrousel is selected, the client gets more detailed news and, if still interested, can go directly to “emoción” by pushing + button to see all the information available.

Motorola’s SCREEN3 solution is designed to help operators like Moviestar drive mobile data usage and generate additional revenue while providing the best and most up-to-date content available. Studies show a drop off in users with every click that it takes to access content. By placing targeted content and promotional information on the device home screen — where it’s easy access and impossible to miss — subscribers are more likely to try and use data services.

In addition to the application on the device, SCREEN3 includes a back-end media gateway server to manage content and client technology, providing consistent content management from the back-end to the device. The solution also provides “smart synchronization” so only new, fresh content gets delivered to the device, minimizing network traffic and increasing customer satisfaction.

In addition to the Motorola RAZR V3 or PEBL U6 that will be available at lunch, Movistar is expected to add m-Channel to a variety of additional Motorola handsets over the next several months.

New Country President to Lead Motorola Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 13 July 2006 - Motorola Inc. (NYSE: MOT) today announced the appointment of Mohd Asri Hassan Sabri to lead Motorola Malaysia, succeeding Dato’ Robin Seo Eng Lin who retired earlier this month after an outstanding 27-year career with Motorola.

Mohd Asri’s appointment as country president for Motorola Malaysia takes effect immediately. In his new role, Mohd Asri will work with the country team to further enhance Motorola’s business presence in Malaysia as a key employer and investor.

Mohd Asri will continue to lead the sales operations for the two-way radio network systems business of Motorola’s Networks & Enterprise business in Malaysia. He will also drive customer relations and business development for the government and enterprise market segments, including security divisions within the Ministries and public safety agencies such as the Military Armed Forces and the Police.

“Mohd Asri’s success at Motorola has been outstanding since he joined us in 2003. His dedication and significant contributions to Motorola’s business development, especially in the government and public safety sectors, places him in good stead to lead and represent Motorola Malaysia’s interests. Motorola has spent the last two years deeply engaged in a global research and development effort around the new retail concept, and as a result has come up with an approach that is centred around the consumer.

Fun is a core element of the stores, offering users an opportunity to personalize their phones using laser etching and customized "phone tattoos," as well as unique in-store training programs and on-site factory authorized technicians to aid with questions and any necessary service.

Beyond the Motorola Flagship Stores themselves, Motorola is planning on taking advantage of the modular nature of the Flagship Store design to launch "store-in-store" shops and non-flagship stores.

“The key elements of the Motorola Flagship Store are modular, scalable, and flexible, ensuring that various incarnations of our signature store design will soon be found in stores worldwide," said Dale. “Motorola will only launch flagship stores, stores or “stores-in-stores” if it benefits our customers and partners who will be opening and operating the stores.”

The Shanghai Motorola Flagship Store is the first of four planned for mainland China, with additional key locations throughout Asia and around the world to follow. “Chinese consumers are as sophisticated as any consumers in the world," said Michael Tatelman, Motorola corporate vice president and general manager Mobile Devices, North Asia. “Launching our Flagship stores in China not only gives us the opportunity to become the brand of choice for China’s sophisticated consumers, it also gives us a unique opportunity to hone the retail concept for markets worldwide.”
