Drinking Water
NEW YORK, NY, June 1, 2007 — The Blue Planet Run Foundation, a non-profit
organization dedicating to raising global awareness about the lack of safe
drinking water, today announced Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) as the official
provider of wireless products for the inaugural 2007 Blue Planet Run, which
begins today. The Blue Planet Run is an unprecedented around-the-world relay
run that spotlights the human crises caused by the lack of safe drinking water
in impoverished communities globally.
Motorola, a global leader in wireless and broadband communications, will
provide all wireless equipment necessary for the 20 Blue Planet runners and

95-day run. “Motorola’s support with wireless products will be essential every
step of the way,” said Matt Kursh, CEO of the Blue Planet Run Foundation,“
Particularly, the Q9 is the ideal device for the run, keeping everyone in touch
through phone calls and e-mail, and allowing us to document the experience with
crisp pictures and videos from around the world.”
Motorola is committed to harnessing the power of its global brand to benefit
people around the world. “With more than one billion people throughout the
world lacking access to safe drinking water, we felt compelled to get
involved,” said Jeremy Dale, corporate vice president, Mobile Devices Global
Marketing, Motorola. “Motorola’s dependable products will ensure Blue Planet
Run athletes and support staff stay seamlessly connected to each other so that
they can spread the vital message that safe drinking water must be made
